The Vivian Beaumont Theater opened in the Lincoln Center complex in 1965, designed by Jo Mielziner and Eero Saarinen and named for the donor who contributed to its creation. Located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, it is the only Broadway theatre situated outside of the Times Square district.
Lincoln Center Theater will bring the world of Lerner & Loewe’s Camelot to vibrant life once again when it produces a new version of the classic tale, reimagined for the 21st century. Featuring a book by Academy and Emmy Award winning writer Aaron Sorkin, based on the original book by Alan Jay Lerner, and direction by Bartlett Sher.
SYNOPSIS:King Arthur founds the kingdom of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table, who fight for justice and right, only to see his ideal crumble when his wife Guenevere falls in love with his favorite knight, Sir Lancelot.
