DESCRIPTION

Emursive Productions, the producing company behind the McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More, Gallow Green, Manderley Bar, and The Club Car is seeking a Speakeasy Magick Lighting and Audio operator. The Emursive Productions Lighting and Audio show operator is responsible for preserving and maintaining all elements of the lighting and audio design of Speakeasy Magick to the quality of the design intention. The Lighting and Audio show operator will be responsible for preserving the good condition of all lighting and audio elements and ensuring that they are safe and well functioning during the show. This candidate will follow proper pre-show, show, and post-show protocols to ensure successful operation of Speakeasy Magick lighting and sound systems while remaining in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.


We are seeking someone who is a true self-starter, a multi-tasker, and someone able to prioritize responsibilities. Candidates will demonstrate attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, possess and exhibit empathy, exude a good sense of humor, and a track record of on-their-feet problem solving. Candidates must be proactive and possess clear communication skills and the ability to be a team player.

Responsibilities:

- Daily dimmer and channel checks

- Daily startup, checks, maintenance, and shutdown of lighting systems

- Maintaining and organizing all working spaces

- Ability to work at heights on ladders

- Ability to take cues independently during the run of show

- Work with management to quickly and efficiently solve problems

- Troubleshoot and make necessary repairs or modifications to the systems during events as necessary

- Responsible for maintenance and repair of all lighting equipment

- Complete and respond to all technical notes from show reports following each show shift as assigned by the General Manager

- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager

- Troubleshoot the microphone systems during events as necessary

- Properly store away all sound equipment and maintain clean and organized working environments

- Other basic audio duties as assigned by the General Manager


Qualifications:

- Associate of Arts or BFA in Technical Theatre or equivalent professional experience.

- Experience in a variety of theatrical lighting control systems, experience with ETC Ion preferred

- Ability to read stage lighting plots, magic sheets, and system flow diagrams

- Familiarity with audio mixers, or a willingness to learn.

- Experience with Qlab preferred, working with and taking calls from stage management

- Light lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of supplies, etc., up to 50 lbs., as well as occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching

- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with a fast paced setting

- Demonstrate strong collaborative, communication, and technical skills

- Demonstrate a strong sense of self-sufficiency and organization when working under pressure, time constraints, dim lighting, show volume, and in view of audience members.


Environmental Factors:

- Dim lighting

- Strobing lights

- Continuous, large quantities of haze


Rate:

$35/Hour; Part Time (15 hours/Week), with a fuller schedule during Load-In and Tech
